You do not have to be embarrassed to put in an honest day’s work at Walmart to support your family. You’re a good mom for protecting your kids and getting them (and you) out of a bad situation. You can hold your head high and be proud. My hat is off to you.

Your choice of title is really interesting (intended I bet)… “leave me alone” as in “leave me alone!” and also as in “you left me alone”.

Sometimes children have their own ideas of what they need from their parents, especially when they know that the most a parent can give is barely what the children can get – then it becomes “a little something may be better than absolutely nothing”.

Dawn, when I first “met” you more than 10 years ago I was taken by you, how intelligence and authentic you were. Over time I have come to enjoy your friendship and the great conversations we’ve had online and off (maybe we should do that more than once , whether it’s about microbusiness or life. Now I can add “courage” to my list of traits I admire about you.
