Dawn Is Me

As The Teen Turns

I don’t know why you say good-bye, I say hello

by Me on Aug.20, 2005, under As The Teen Turns

Little did I know how fast the stars of last season’s hit series, As The Teen Turns, would hustle to line up interestingness for the coming season. Or maybe the season has already started and we’ve all been betrayed by our local listings …

In the latest episode, it turns out that Gina and Brian are now an item. Evidently, Gina got tired of that unrequited love gig, took a look around with a fresh perspective and … the rest is history. Isn’t it romantic? :::gush:::

Meanwhile, it looks like Andy is poised to start being stupid again. It’s early days yet, though, and we’ll all hope that he resists the temptation.

I have reason to believe that Kasedy and Tracy are still an item, which leads me to suspect that neither of them really believes that her mom is willing to have him arrested. Quick note, you two: they didn’t come up with that expression “jail bait” for no reason, you know.

Kimmie S. seems to be simply furious with both Gina and Andy, for reasons that she was apparently too angry to be coherent about. We’ll have to stay tuned for details on that one.

Steve seems to continue to be bored with Turning Teendom and has sucked into himself so thoroughly that we hardly ever see him anymore. Gina and I have considered shutting her into my trunk again, to see if we can smoke him out. Never mind … we’ll just hope he’ll be back later in the season.

I don’t know about you but it looks to me like the new season of As the Teen Turns is going to be a really exciting one. Look at all that’s going on, and school hasn’t even started yet!

We did say that they were revving up for the new season and, I’ll tell you, when these kids rev, they really rev.

Summertime, and the living is easy

by Me on Aug.14, 2005, under As The Teen Turns

It’s been quiet among the Turning Teens this summer. I guess when they go on vacation, they really mean it. That means you’ve been stuck with summer reruns, waiting for the new season of As The Teen Turns to get started.

Well, buck up! It’s almost September, and we all know what that means …

They’re going back …

But, just to demonstrate that they’re still around and still turning (just not quite as fast) we bring you this quick update from As The Teen Turns

When last we left our heros and heroines, Gina was poised to murder Andy, Andy was making lame excuses and considering the difference between almost dying and the real thing, Steve was playing Colonel Klink (in joke for non-turning teens in the crowd), Kasedy was in the throes (just because somehow she always is), and Brian was looking for another pair of roller skates to roll backward down steep hills with.

It has been quiet but there have been a few developments.

Gina grew calm, decided to be civil. Andy’s life is no longer in danger. Right now, Gina is basking in good cheer because her big brother is doing so much better, and nothing in the world can bother her.

And that’s good, because Andy evidently decided to go out and get a life. He even got a girlfriend for a few minutes. Easy come, easy go.

Brian has been having a tough time this summer. Right now, his feelings are hurt because Steve took a brief vacation from Turning Teendom. And, on top of that, his dog is sick.

Tough to say what’s going on with Kasedy. She got busted (again) but that doesn’t seem to me to have changed much of anything. She still has her new, extremely PINK blog but she never updates it. Either her life is just that boring or she has a guardian lawyer whispering in her ear that she shouldn’t put anything in writing.

Steve, as was mentioned, was on vacation from his fellow Turning Teens. He has returned, looking pretty much the same, so that it doesn’t appear that anything dire happened to him except a bit of rest. Oh, and his blog is history, which has robbed us of some good reading. Pooh!

Soon, fortified by a whole summer of lounging around, these teens will return to high school, where they will once again indulge in their regular dramas and comedies, thereby providing observant adults with hours of low-cost entertainment.

I can’t wait …

Hot fun in the summertime

by Me on Jul.28, 2005, under As The Teen Turns

Surreal teen encounters enliven my life.

Me: Hey, where are you off to?
Gina: We’re going up to the pool.
Me: Oh, okay, well … have fun getting wet!
Gina: Getting wet! Are you crazy? I’m not getting wet!

I’ll confess it, I did think that getting wet was the entire point of going to the pool.

What was I thinking?
