It’s been a hard day’s night
By Me | November 14, 2006
Nina reminds me that I still have a blog here.
Well, actually, in fairness to myself, I’m still recovering. I’m kind of surprised by how completely exhausted I was by the time I was sitting in a hotel room in Washington watching the election results come in.
It was a good night, though, wasn’t it?
Further update: we still don’t have a working furnace.
Tired of hearing me say that? Tough. Deal with it.
Yes, you heard that right. I live in upstate NY in the Catskill Mountains. It’s November. There is no heat in my house. Words defy me.
We’re galloping to the end of the year here, and I’m caught off guard. I only realized about two days ago that Thanksgiving is almost here. I’m supposed to be setting up my life so that I can relax by the end of December. This year, the signs are not propitious. I’m getting to the point that I don’t remember what relaxation feels like.
I’m going to have to work on that.
I’m also going to have to work on setting myself up so that, when I take my alleged two weeks off at the end of the year, I’ll actually be taking two weeks off.
That’s not as easy to do as it sounds.

Still no furnace? Oh, how we forget some are still recovering from the flood.
Hope you get heat soon, hon, as winter is about to settle into your neck of the woods.
Not to mention the business of life, work, kids, husband.
Stay warm, darlin’. And get some rest.
