How do you measure, measure a year?

Today, I finally got around to giving Gina the rest of her birthday present … and it was
Girl’s night out!
We went to the local mall and started out with dinner at Applebee’s. The nachos were yummy-scrummy, the food was generally filling, the marguerita was plentiful, the prices were reasonable, and the waiters were hot — well, that’s what Gina and her friend Francis were saying anyway.
Who me? No, I wasn’t looking at the babies! Geez. ;-D
After dinner, we spent a bit of time sort of wandering around browsing and generally having fun. Gina played the soccer game at the arcade, the one where you get to take a few shots on goal. She was only sorry I didn’t come supplied with endless numbers of quarters. We stopped at a teenaged person clothing boutique where Gina found a ‘Brooklyn’ hoodie, which I bought for her. This made her deleriously happy.
And Gina and Frances continued to scope out all the cute guys.
And then, finally, we went to the movies and saw Rent. What a great movie! Fun songs, good music and there wasn’t a dry eye in the place for the last half hour or so of the film. Not the sort of flick to go see if your cynic button is jammed but, if not, you should find it touching and uplifting.
